Itinerary

When you arrive at Fes airport, your driver meets you and takes you to your hotel or riad inside the old city or nearby. This day is for relaxing after the flight. You can walk a little in the quiet streets, drink mint tea, and get your first small view of life in Fes. The city feels old and alive at the same time, with sounds of people, markets, and small shops around you.

You explore Fes with a local guide who knows all the secret streets. You walk through the old Medina that has thousands of narrow passages. You see artisans who make leather, metal lamps, carpets, pottery, and wooden designs. You visit the famous leather tanneries where workers color the leather in big stone pools. You visit old schools with beautiful tiles, calm courtyards, and old fountains. You pass shops full of spices, dates, nuts, and perfumes, and you hear stories about the long history of the city. The day is slow and full of small details that make Fes feel like a living museum.

You leave Fes and enter the Middle Atlas mountains. Your first stop is Ifrane, a clean city with fresh air, parks, and houses with red roofs. It feels different from the rest of Morocco. Then you continue to Azrou forest where tall cedar trees grow, and monkeys walk around waiting for food. You enjoy time in nature before continuing through long mountain roads. Villages appear on the hills, children walk near the road, and the air becomes cooler. You arrive in Midelt, a quiet town between mountains, and sleep there.

You travel through high mountains and rocky landscapes until you reach the Ziz valley. The valley is long, green, and full of palm trees that stand between brown desert rocks. After some stops for photos you continue to Merzouga, the door of the Sahara desert. In the afternoon you ride a camel into the big sand dunes during sunset. The light becomes golden and the air becomes soft. You reach the desert camp where you enjoy dinner, music, and a sky full of stars. The desert night is calm and peaceful.

In the morning after breakfast you start a jeep tour around the Sahara region. You visit black desert stones, dry areas, small oases, and places where nomad families live in simple tents. You sit with a nomad family and drink tea, learning about desert life. Then you go to Khamlia village where people play traditional Gnawa music with drums and dancing, giving a warm local feeling. After exploring, you return to a hotel in Merzouga for rest and a good night of sleep.

A full day for relaxing. You can stay in the hotel and enjoy the pool, or take part in activities like a cooking class where you learn to make Moroccan tagine, or go for a picnic in the dunes.
